Manish Chokhani is a renowned investor and financial analyst in India, known for his rich experience and deep insights in the Indian capital markets. He holds high recognition in the Indian financial sector and has remarkable achievements in investment banking, equity market analysis, and investment management.
Manish Chokhani serves as a director at Enam Holdings Pvt. Ltd., a company engaged in investment management and financial services in India. Under his leadership at Enam Securities, the firm became one of India's leading investment banks before being acquired by Axis Bank. He has a profound understanding of the growth and value creation of Indian enterprises, which he demonstrates in his investment decisions.
Mr. Chokhani is one of India's most respected financial market experts, having established/led multiple institutions. He is best known for his role as the Managing Director and CEO at ENAM Securities, an iconic domestic investment bank, considered a trusted "banker" to some of India's most renowned business groups including Infosys, Zee, Birla, Reliance, Vedanta, Raheja, and the Future Group.
In 2011, Mr. Chokhani spearheaded the $400 million merger of Enam with Axis Bank, creating Axis Capital Ltd (ACL), where he served as the Managing Director and CEO until November 2013. In 1998, Mr. Chokhani co-founded Enam AMC, managing the wealth of some of India's leading business families, as well as offshore institutional funds. He also served on the board of the $1 billion ZA Capital Fund and as an advisor to the $400 million India Capital Fund. He has assisted several other leading institutional investors in formulating and implementing their India investment strategies, including serving as the Chairman of TPG Growth India during 2014-16. Mr. Chokhani has thrice been the co-chair of the Capital Markets Committee of the Indian Merchants' Chamber. He is an active member of the World Presidents' Organization and the All India Management Association.
Mr. Chokhani is a qualified Chartered Accountant and one of the youngest MBA graduates from the London Business School. He has served on the school's international alumni board and scholarship panel. He has been a visiting professor at IIM-K and is passionate about teaching. An avid sportsman, Manish has represented his university team in cricket, tennis, badminton, and sprinting. He is a trained singer and also enjoys reading, painting, traveling, and Vipassana (a Buddhist meditation technique).
